Located in what's best known as "Four Floors of Whores," Naughty Girl is an exceedingly enjoyable bar. Quite a few might call this place "Sleazy" because its the common hang out for Filipina Maids and Bangladeshi workers on their off day. The truth is, the party is so good and the atmosphere is people enjoying themselves is so pleasent that you'll want to judge the quality of a bar by the number of Filipinos in the place | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | American | | Location: | The Oriental Singapore, Fourth Floor |
One of Singapore's most renown food critics describes this traditional steakhouse as - "Just a Piece of Meat," and boy, what a piece of meat it is. If steak is what you like, Morton's produces the type of steaks that you thought only existed in your dreams - big, chunky and very juicy - meat that is tender - so tender until it melts in your mouth.
Of course the ambiance is great. This is one of the few places in Singapore where the waiter provides you with a presentation of the food before presenting you with the menue.
Only down side to the place is price. Don't expect to walk out of Morton's paying anything less than $250 -without alcohol - but with the steaks being what they are, you won't mind paying the price. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Mystery & Suspense |
You have to hand it to Sharon Stone but even as she approaches the magic 50 mark - she looks hot and the few nude scenes that she does are enough to get most normal red blooded men gripping the edge of their seats.
However, if you thought this was going to be a shag fest that the first one was, you'd be pretty dissapointed. The action takes place in London and there are a few quirky scenes of my old neighbourhood in Soho. Unlike the first one where it looked like Sharon was the star of the show, this one seemed to give most of the glory to the British Shrink - who although acted well, didn't get the hearts racing in the same way that she could.
Most of the movie was a good Mind Beep session and Stone's character - The infamous Vamp - Catherine Trummel ends up trumping the poor shrink.
So - for those of you who enjoy watching Sharon twist hapless blokes around her pinky this is the film to watch. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Italian | | Location: | Grand Hyatt, Singapore |
Homer Simpson had it right when it comes to Pete's Place, one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Singapore. Pizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is the only thing one can say after savouring one of their oven baked pan-pizza's. Somehow the crust is thin and yet crispy while the the flavour of the toppings come out in a way that will delight your senses. The flavour of all the cheeses on the Quatro Formagi (4 Cheeses) in particular, is so rich that it will leave the tummy with a sense of glorious satisfaction. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Mediterranean | | Location: | InterContinental Hotel, Singapore |
What can I say about the place. Ambience is fabulous as you sit there is a nicely decorated part of the InterContinental Hotel.
Food is out of this world. Light, lots of vegitables and the quality of breads and cheese is second to none. Pasta sauces also create new boundaries of new culinary experiences. | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | African | | Location: | Sam Leong Rd |
This is probably not one for the girls or vegitarians but this has to rank as one of Singapore's most interestnig eat outs.
CLE African Restaurant is located at at the corner of an eat-out on Sam Leong Rd. It's the regular hang-out for Singapore's African community. Whenever I'm there, I'm always regarded as something of a novelty - I'm the only non African sitting there with the boys from Nigeria, Mali and Cameroon.
Cuisine is surprisingly tasty. Usually stick to Pepper Soup (Drink lots of water), Suji (Broken Millet) which is dipped into Ebusi Soup. Nigerians think of soup as very sticky goo made from a combination of Ocra, beef and chicken. It's really tasty stuff that leads you to waddle out of the place after a few mouthfuls - in short, this is perfect pre booze food.
Quite a bit has been writen about the ambience. The African boys can appear a bit rowdy and as an ex would say - "They're Big and Ugly." Having said that, the sound of African music in the background provides a happy go-lucky atmosphere akin of ones fantasy of Jamaica | Category: | Restaurants | | Cuisine: | Indian | | Location: | Excelsior Shopping Centre |
Probably the only restaurant where they don't actually give you a bill at the end of the day. Everything is financed by ......you won't believe it but it's true - donnations. After grabbing some grub, you pay what you feel like paying.
Anyway, the fare is Indinan Vegitarian. Some will either love it or lath it. Good to visit when you're skint and want to grab an edible meal that will be fairly nutritious. Place is inside a shopping centre so you get to eat in the comfort of airconditioning. Ambiance is quite plesant.
